This project made me discover the world of font making. It was great to mix different kind of Design in order to merged them into one clean font.

Brief

Design of a typeface based on an architect. Here the architect was Ieoh Ming Pei.


Work

After studying the architecture of Ieoh Ming Pei, I kept some principles and strength of them in order to create my typeface. I based my work on the different steel structures and the diamond shapes, triangular shapes of his work.

My concept is to have two different lines, extern ones bolder than the intern ones. I only use triangles to make every letters of my alphabet. The Louvre's Pyramid was my principal inspiration.


Challenges

Find the strength of the architect's work and bring it to a cohesive typeface.
